A friend of the project in Norwich, UK, sent this video link to me.  It’s been creatively edited visually, but it documents a discussion by Muslim artists and scholars as to the purpose of art, and why we should create it.

One of my heroes is a gentleman and saint, Seyyed Hossein Nasr.  His book, Islamic Art and Spirituality, is a wonderful discussion on art, for any artist of faith.  Two more of his books discussing his faith, and the transformative power of faith in general, are here and here.

These resources come from Muslim perspectives, and dovetail profoundly into my Christian faith.
