In the back of our minds there are two ideas.  One is an awareness (or hope) of individual uniqueness, and the other is the inkling that somehow everything is connected.  The world is filled with flowers, and it would be so boring if every flower were the same.

Recently I came across a documentary by Tom Shadyac, director of (among many others) Evan Almighty — the film is titled “I Am“.  It asks two questions, What is the source of the world’s problems, and What is the solution?  He finds the answer to both questions is the same.

Perhaps not the full answers to these two ideas, but enough to make us think.
